My name is Cynthia Washington and I am a Barber Instructor located in Texas.
I have Reciprocity in Georgia and Tennessee. I am known as the Barber Instructor on Instagram and Cynthia Washington on Facebook, and I definitely love what I do. I post and promote a lot on social media the work of others as well as myself. I believe that although a person may be on the other side of the country that does not mean we cannot learn from each other. I love admiring the work of students as well as barber/stylist from all over the world and I have seen some improvements on some of their social media posts. I post information on classes, videos (hair cutting, color, braiding, weaving, wigs etc…), equipment or tools for sale, hair shows/battles no matter what part of the world you are from and so much information. Social media is also good for networking as I have met a lot of my Facebook friends at some of the events I attended and have exchanged some valuable information with them. I assist anyone – no matter their location… When I do not have the answers, I do not mind researching and seeking out the information, as I want to make sure that you have the most correct and up to date details and can trust what I put out there.
I feel that we are all one and that is what Barber Love means to me. When everyone is working together as one, I want you to know everything I know, I want us to all be on the same path as there is nothing to hide in this industry. We are all Barbers/Stylist and can forever learn from each other.
Being educated in this industry should be ongoing as there is always change such as State Board Rules, hairstyles or trends, products, equipment, tools, etc…this also helps boost your income when you know what is going on in the world. I believe what I love the most is teaching in the barber school. I have learned from students while teaching them. We practice safety and sanitation from 1st day of school as that should be remembered with or without your license. Don’t get me wrong, I love to cut hair but I would rather spread my knowledge and skills to others. If my time can help others improve their haircuts and learn the rules and new skills, I feel I served my community and spread the wealth of knowledge. I enjoy assisting with education and I promote for everyone to be successful and that is why I do what I do.
